Professor Ramon Flecha is an Emeritus Professor of Sociology at the University of Barcelona, DADD Gassprofessor at Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (2023), and Doctor Honoris Causa from the West University of Timişoara.

He is the first author in the categories of Social Impact and Gender Violence (in Google Scholar) and the 7th in Sociological Theory.

Prof. Flecha was hired by the EC as Chair of the Expert Group of 17 scientists from diverse areas to develop the social and policy impact criteria for the Horizon Europe Research Program. He is the only author who has chaired Social Sciences and Humanities projects in the last five EC research Programs: Workalo (FP5), Included (FP6), Impact-EV (FP7), Allinteract (Horizon 2020), and Revers-Ed (Horizon Europe).

He is the founder of the CREA research centre, in the framework of which the concepts of social impact, co-creation, and isolating gender violence have been developed.

The latter has been published in the scientific journal Violence against Women. The social impact of these and other creations has been published in top journals in diverse scientific areas, such as Nature, the Journal of Urban Health, Harvard Educational Review, AIMS Neuroscience and International Sociology.
